This summer, McDonald's invites fans to rediscover a whimsical world that many remember fondly from their childhood—McDonaldland. The iconic fast-food chain is celebrating its beloved characters and playful setting, originally launched in the 1970s, through a limited-time promotional menu featuring a McDonaldland Meal.
A Tasty Throwback with a Twist
The McDonaldland Meal, available starting August 12, includes fan favorites such as signature fries and the choice of a Quarter Pounder with Cheese or ten-piece Chicken McNuggets. Adding to the fun is the strikingly colored Mt. McDonaldland Shake, evoking blue ‘lava’ and pink clouds, inspired by the fictional volcano at the center of McDonaldland.
Collectible Memories: More Than Just a Meal
As part of this engaging promotion, McDonald’s is offering fans collectible tins filled with postcards and stickers featuring the likes of Ronald McDonald, Grimace, and the Hamburglar. Jennifer “JJ” Healan, McDonald’s vice president of U.S. marketing, emphasizes that this campaign connects the nostalgic past with the present, creating new experiences for both old fans and new generations.

Additionally, fans can participate in a summer tour around the U.S., featuring appearances at events like ThriftCon and the Daytona 500.

McDonald's is not stopping at traditional marketing methods. The brand is also employing a new 30-second TV commercial to promote the nostalgic journey into McDonaldland and is even planning a unique takeover within Fortnite, aiming to engage a younger audience in a familiar digital space.
